HELP WITH HOUSE ROTA
Support
House Rota is currently in testing. If something gets in the way, let us know.
Email support ↗Include your app version, phone model, what you were trying to do and any error message. Remove personal details from screenshots. Never send your password, email confirmation links or password reset links.
Confirming your email
Open the latest confirmation email and follow its link. After confirmation, return to House Rota and sign in. Check your junk folder if the email has not arrived. If a link has expired or fails, contact support.
Joining a household
Ask your household organiser for an eight-character invitation code. Choose the option to join a household and enter that code. Codes expire after seven days and work once. If it has expired or been used, ask the organiser to create a new one. Joining adds a new member using their account name; it does not take over an existing household profile. Treat invitation codes as private.
Changes are not syncing
Check your internet connection and the sync status in the app. Give pending changes time to upload. If it shows an error, take note of the message and contact support before deleting or reinstalling the app, which could remove changes stored only on your phone.
Reminders
Enable reminders in Household settings and allow notifications in your phone settings. Reminders are scheduled on your phone. Focus, Do Not Disturb and notification settings can affect how they appear.
Password reset
Use the password reset option on the sign-in screen and open the latest reset email. The reset flow is still being tested in installed iPhone builds. If the link does not open correctly in a testing build, contact support.
Deleting your account
In Household settings, choose Delete my account and data and read the confirmation carefully.
- If you joined someone else's household: deletion removes your sign-in account, access and active household profile automatically. The organiser does not need to remove you separately. Tasks shared with other people keep their remaining assignees. Tasks assigned only to you become unassigned and are marked Needs reassignment. You are removed from future task rotation.
- Completed history: completion records stay with the household and show you as Former member. Your name, login link and availability are removed from the retained history profile. Task content, room photos and information other members entered are not automatically erased just because your account is deleted.
- If you organise the household: account deletion also removes the shared household and its House Rota data for everyone. Check the warning before confirming.
The organiser sees an in-app notice about a departing member when their app next syncs. It is not a push notification. Phones that are offline may still show older information until they reconnect and sync.
Creating another account with the same email does not restore household access. Ask the organiser for a fresh invitation code. Joining adds a new member rather than taking over an existing profile.
If you cannot access the app, or want help with personal information still present in shared content, email accounts@houserota.com. We may need to verify that you own the account. Never send your password.
